Not the Posture Police?!

So, I’m Jana —if you are here, we must have met, at least online!

And I’m the lady that helps you get empowered to get out of pain, stay out of pain & feel amazing in your body

I cannot help it.  I was doing a degree in Dance, and it was the need to help my friends recover better from their injuries that got me into this industry.

And now, 17 Years later.  I’m still loving massage therapy & exercise rehab & staying on top of the latest research (next up level 5 exams!!)

And around here, I love nothing more than to make the latest research more digestible and actionable for you to apply in your life.

So you can get out of pain

And lead the busy life you live with ease

What else … ?

Well,

After I had Joshua, I just *knew* there had to be a way that parents and caregivers everywhere must be able to fit the joy of movement, just a sprinkling, into each day.

After all, no-one’s got the time these days to do multiple hours of exercise (?!)

And the good news is…it’s actually the little & often that works the best!!

Which brings me to you.

Do you need to stop feeling so stiff after being at your desk?

Do you want a spring in your step when you need to rush off somewhere?

I hear you.

So, just above ^^^ I mentioned little & often is better than big stints of exercise done once-in-a-blue-moon

Why’s that?

Because if you are here to stop feeling so stiff, to get your mobility back or your deep core ignited, we need to look at POSTURE

Now, I’m not the Posture Police.

I believe in our need to have freedom in our body & be able to move about with ease.

And it starts with our Postural Muscles

Our Postural muscles are our deep core muscles that hold & support our body in optimal positions.  When they are firing correctly, they help to prevent injury or pain.

These postural muscles include our abdominals, mainly the deepest one the “transverse abdominus”, the back muscles including the multifidus, and the pelvic floor.

They need to support us in static/stillness and dynamic/moving postures.  It’s not enough just to “know” about good posture, we need to re-enforce good habits & strong muscles in order to be able to recruit the right muscle firing patterns.

You may find you have Years of unconscious habitual static postures that have been contributing to hurting you.

So now, be patient with yourself, but a good way to move awareness into action is to ask “Is this helping or harming me?”

It can take time to re-pattern these postures.  The rehab includes mobilising tight tissues, and strengthening those small deep postural muscles.  Little/short bouts, often enough each week.

And now? I want to hear YOUR story.
