Like a little love note today, I thought I’d pop a short + sweet “Daily Reminder” for you to screen shot, + save. Keep this to remind yourself as often as you need;
Choose nourishment over punishment
Nourishment always wins, when it comes to feeling like the most vital version of yourself.
Let’s break it down…
This week I’ve had the pleasure of holding an amazing space with a courageous set of ladies that have now completed a 10 week “Moving Through Menopause” course, headed up by the local charitable organisation ROKT Foundation.
We spoke about how food is not inherently “good” or “bad”. It’s our labels we put on it that can cause such a complex relationship with food. It can cause an “on” or “off” the wagon scenario…and it sucks the joy out of it.
Does this sound familiar?
If it does, I hear you. And so do your hormones. You see, the majority of clients I get to work with, just like YOU, are females around the age of 40+…which is the life-phase of peri-menopausal to menopausal.
Before you switch off about hormones…it is never to early or late to nurture them. They have a massive impact on the way you feel and your joint health.
Two top signs you may need to pay attention to your hormones:
Have you noticed how you may have got away with a haphazard way of eating before now…but the last few Years your recovery from a glass of wine takes longer, or irratic meal times make you feel groggy?
It’s time to embrace fueling YOU from a place of love
Can you look at your plate and ask yourself “does this support me right now?” With quality whole foods, lots of plants + good fats, you’ll give your hormones the deep nourishment they need.
And a little of what you fancy is good for your soul 😉
Here is a beautiful salad Lidia the chair of ROKT made for us all:
- wild rocket for its anti-inflammatory properties
- pomegranetes for phyto-oestrogens
- feta for good fats + protein
- walnuts for good fats, especially the brain
- quinoa for protein-rich complex carbs
- a good squeeze from fresh oranges for a dressing.
I bet we will all replicate this for Mondays lunch!

Just a few more photos of the lovely progress the ladies made over the last 10 weeks!
This is a free of charge course, running throughout 2023. Please contact katie.katiekinsella@roktfoundation.co.uk for details on the future courses.
